Combo & Two-Tone Custom Mug Color Options

Custom combo mugs are colored on the handle and inside, and two-tone mugs have just the inside of the mug colored. These colored mugs really provide an additional boost to any logo or design and there are enough color options to ensure that your branding or image upload is well matched, or that the custom mug recipient receives a mug color that they will really appreciate and enjoy using.

Uploading your Logo and Editing 

When you are on a product page, click ‘Edit this design’. Then click on an image and ‘Change Image’. Upload your logo or design and replace.

The image templates are size optimized and positioned in order to best display your logo on each side of the mug (customize individually), so that all the image is inside the ‘safe zone’ for vivid printing, and are roughly in line on either side of the mug. The positions differ for each size of mug, so you will need to choose the mug size in the store, not on the product page.

You are able to adjust the size and position of each image, but be aware that if doing so, to make sure that you keep the important elements of your design inside the dotted red line, and also to check how each side aligns with the other by flicking between the preview images on the Options or Review screen.

Enlarged Single Image Opposite Handle Option

You also have the option to delete one of the images and move the remaining single image to the side of the mug, opposite the handle, if you prefer to feature your logo or image there. For longer horizontal logos, this may be better. Such a template is next in the pipeline and will appear on this page.

For single image positioning, when you see the blue vertical, it is centrally opposite the handle. In doing so, you will be able to enlarge the image by clicking the ‘+’ icon above it. Just remember to always keep the important parts of the design (other than background) within the red dotted line. 

2. Logo Mugs with Text

These custom logo mugs are designed for those who want to add some additional text to their business branding in a format that looks great on a mug – circular text surounding an image.

Encircling the featured ‘Your Logo Here’ image just outside of the dotted black line is an invisible frame (a mask) which forms a round border. This ensures that any image you upload that extends beyond this border is masked, so that your personalized text always displays on a white background, and any image is perfectly framed.

For some logo shapes, this circular frame mug option may not work, but for most it will either not be noticed at all, and in some cases may change it to a circular logo and even add to its appeal.

Each category link will take you a page with three further sub-category options. These 3 categories are for the 3 text size template options for each style of mug: Large size text, Medium size text, and Small size text, with examples of these text sizes shown below.

Depending on the requirements for the text surrounding your logo, any of these three text sizes may be best suited for you needs.

Click on each text box to see the related area on the mug and replace with your own text, or delete.

Adjusting Size and Position of Elements

You are able to adjust the size and position of each image and text, or even change the font or text size, but be aware that when doing so, certain other changes may occur, such as the curvature of the text. Three alternative text size templates have been constructed in order to avoid such considerations.

However, if you simply wish to move or alter the size of the complete design on each side of the mug, then first group the 4 design elements on just one side of the mug (order in ‘Layers’: Side 1 – 1,2,5,6 and Side 2 – 3,4,7,8). You can do this by clicking each related element in the ‘Layers’ while holding down the relevant key (on a Mac this is the Command key). You will find ‘Layers’ by scrolling down the vertical tool bar on the left of the edit screen. Once grouped, you should be able to adjust the size or move all the grouped elements without any issues.

Also, make sure that after any editing, that all important elements of your design are inside the dotted red line, and that each side aligns roughly with the other by flicking between the preview images on the Options or Review screen.

3. Photo Mugs – Your Face on a Mug

Your image upload is encircled by an invisible frame (a mask), which forms a round border. The above default image was chosen because the background is visible enough for you to see the round border, but light enough for you to imagine how your image will look if the background is distinct enough to be removed by the ‘Remove BG’ tool, leaving just the silhouette of a face etc. Either way, your photo mug will look great.
